About the guitars

Aluminum has the sound.  That's why we build with it.   You already know that electronics alter the tone and voice of the electric guitar more noticeably than anything else.  But whatever electronics you use, the characteristic aluminum resonance remains.

An aluminum guitar neck does some very good things.

The aluminum allows more of the string's energy to be heard by the pickup.  More signal means more choice for you.
The rigidity of aluminum causes an extremely fast attack.  Notes pop from the strings.
You get excellent sustain because there is no wood to absorb and damp string's energy.
Aluminum is a naturally resonant material that you can hear amplified or not.  High odd order harmonics are the signature of the Bergeron aluminum guitar's bell tone.

And because we are completely obsessed with precision, superior pitch accuracy happens everywhere on the neck.   The idea of precision can go only so far for a wooden guitar neck if by next winter the neck is a different shape than it was in summer.

...

We have absolutely solved some of the problems of aluminum guitars from the past.

Our guitars are not neck heavy.  Of the 8 1/2 pounds that our guitars weigh, only two pounds are in the neck.
We do not use any cast parts.  The Bergeron Aluminum is completely machined from solid aluminum.
We do not use a bolted on neck.  The Bergeron is a "neck through" design.
We use a zero fret instead of a nut to eliminate possible intonation errors at the nut.
We make our own frets.  Why?  Standard fret wire is made mostly of brass and some nickel.  This material is not especially wear resistant materials.  Standard fret material is too soft.  The tough stainless steel alloy that we use is extremely wear resistant.  But what you will notice is how easily the strings slide on it.
